01/04/2005: "Goodbye "coupledom"!"
This is our last day as a couple. From tomorrow on we will be a forever family. It seems so surreal to say those words. We have waited so long that I can't quite believe it. This is such an emotional time. I am excited, nervous and elated all at the same time. We are taking this little girl from everything she has ever known. This will be such a life altering experience for her--for all of us. I only hope that in the future she'll look back and be happy that she joined our family. I know there are no words to describe how happy we are to have found her, finally.
We will go around 1:00 tomorrow to pick her up.
Today all of us went on a little walking adventure to find the baby store. It was a nice store with many items to choose from. I was keeping my eyes out for a little knit hat. I am going to see if the orphanage will let me take the little blue hat they have been putting on her if I give them one to replace it. It would make a great memory. We shall see.
The walk was nice. It was very cold (around -7ish when we left...but I think it warmed up by the time we got back). All that fresh air made me tired, though. When we got back we all watched The Fellowship of the Ring. Now we are on a break for dinner and we will watch the first half of The Two Towers. Then it will be off to bed to wake up to our first day of parenthood!!!
We will try to post tomorrow night before we go to bed to tell everyone how she is doing...
