08/18/2004: "Another visit, more pictures"

Just posted 2 more pictures from our visit today. Another great visit other than a little tossup on crystal wink

We had the interview with the person from child protection and she approved us and told us to get going on the paperwork! Not that we had any doubts but still great to hear all the approvals. We also officially signed the letter of intent to adopt today and that has been turned in. Tomorrow we go to get a final notorized copy of it for the ministry of education.

It's going to be really hard to leave her behind tomorrow. Hopefully our court date doesn't take too long to get so we can get back here as soon as possible. While we are ready to be back home again we can't imagine not having her with us now.

WOW, I have never seen two people look happier than the two of you in those pictures! big grin It seriously made me cry, and I didn't even cry when I held Georgia for the first time LOL I can't wait to see more and I am praying for an early court date. You are finally getting the happiness you deserve.

They did a really good job in matching Lidia with you guys. It's amazing, but she actually has alot of similaritys to Adam.
I'm excited to see her for REAL!!

I'm so happy for you guys...

I wanted to let you know, I was just talking to a woman from my department who has been through the russian adoption process twice...and would be HAPPY to give you guys some advice, input...she also said she can give you some soothing things to say to Lidia in Russian so she can understand the everything is ok.. (she learned them with her two and said that it made a HUGE difference in their mood) and she has some people she can set you up with some contacts...they know a GREAT Dr. that gives the medical exams etc...and a few other people...

and she also knows a couple that is going through the process right now and wants some advice from someone who is currently in the system if you are interested :-)

I'm gonna email you her email address right now...Her name is Jo Ellen Downey-Greeer, and she is a really nice lady, please feel free to contact her, she was really excited to hear about your adoption success so far and wants to make sure that things continue to go smoothly!
